So you can understand how pleased I was to find the marked grave of a CSA soldier who died at
Savannah in the Union hospital. The name is spelled out like it sounded, but you can tell it was him.
Having had kin at Shiloh that were among those moved out and some thrown into the trenches;
one in a prison up north-cannot recall the prison right now but died there; one who was captured at Helena
and was held prisoner for years and was still alive when the war ended, but never came home, probably in too
bad of a shape; one who died in Little Rock at the Union prison and surely buried somewhere around Little Rock;
etc. simply finding a marked grave was amazing.
Guess it proves the quality of the person who not only cared
for the man but recorded his grave and other information to the best of their ability.
