That is a possibility. We've seen just how much one woman can do to begin and maintain a cemetery. Helping with one grave wouldn't be out of the realm. On the other hand, in that time, there were a lot of very thoughtful individuals. Some men may have taken that extra step hoping one would do the same for them. There have always been a few who wouldn't bother with the kindness or even let it cross their mind. They were on both sides so we can't point fingers but we can say a silent thank you to those who did care.
