Re: When history is written is important

From what I took away with what he said was they (university historians) rewrote history in the 60s and 70s to make themselves feel better and went WAY too far. Sitting around plotting how to do it. That explains why when I went to school they were teaching Civil War history that made no sense. The 60s and 70s was all about connecting racism to everything, even at the expense of destroying our history. When he published his book the first time (in the 80s) apparently hit people the wrong way and he was raked over the coals for it, that's why he rewrote the forward. He went back to writing and analyzing history using facts and common sense. I may go out and buy this book, the preview was VERY interesting.
