I concur with Jim. This type of discussion is exactly what this board is all about. I don't know how long you've been following this board but yours is one of the more intelligent and thought-out post in quite awhile and nowhere as controversial and divisive as many in past years. Your post does not fail to cover the issues of your point, however, it does so in a summary way, there are many points that could be covered to bolster your argument; and I don't think I've ever found a single person that has been able to cover it all, so your in good company. Some of your facts I could disagree with, but not your opinion. I am disappointed that you do not wish to debate what you've said; the heat of passion in proving ones ideas is really where the root of learning begins for all.

I wish you could have read the old post with posters long gone, ah those were the days. The arguments we would get into-- what a hoot. I still haven't read the book "Cracker Culture" that poster "Brother" was convinced the one sure book to change my mind on Southern cultural heritage---Or the history professor from Havard who thought he could win arguments by reversing the order of posters words. I'm sure the veterans that still read or post here have their own memories.
