Re: Hampton Roads Peace Conference, 1865

I guess I need to get off my duff and see the movie but everyone I know who has seen it said it was way too long and very boring. Even admitting that, a few said it was a good movie on historical content but those saying it haven't done any History research in 20 or more years that I know of. I thought Les Miserables was awesome myself. Not long enough and not one boring minute in it.

A former hs classmate lives in Texas and has been in the SCV and stuff and we got into a long discussion with another classmate who defended Lincoln til another classmate (a Judge ) told him he was full of brown stuff but in that discussion the Texas mate said they celebrated Watch Night in his area and he asked a black friend why since they were not freed at that time they celebrated. The Black friend said he had no idea, it was just another one of those things they were taught to remember as children.
