Thanks Glenn, I have studied about Jack Hinson and his family in the War. Robert Hinson's band was one of many partisans operating in the area and no doubt one of the best. There were also some low life outlaws, but I am certain they were a minority and less harmful to innocent civilians than the occupying Yankees. Unfortunately, we will never know as much as we would like to know about life behind enemy lines in Middle TN. I read a good book on the subject, but it has very little information about Stewart County and the Land Between the Rivers.
