Lets not forget the countless houses that where looted and burned to the ground.

A buddy of mine lives in the house that his great great grandfather lived in during the war.

He was too old for active military service but he did do a little partisan work some nights against the Yankees.

One day two Yankee cavalry men (probably deserters looking for a quick buck) came to the door demanding money, gold, etc.

So the old guy went and grabbed his shotgun that he kept loaded next to the door and....BOOOM!!

Puts a hole in the guy standing in the doorway and tore half of the other Yank's shoulder off.

My buddy's great great grandmother kept her jewellery after that LOL!!
