Re: Battle of Williamsport on July 6, 1863

It evidently was not important to Confederate military leaders to inventory black combatants. Their contributions were considered ordinary, same as the white men. That is good enough for me, to know there were many black servants and free blacks who fought whenever it was expected of them and no doubt sometimes when it was not expected.
