Interesting, I took my information quickly but double checked and on page 22 of his Compiled Military Service Records, Major William F. Carter 2nd Missouri Infantry (Confederate) it stated he was killed on October 5, 1864 at Allatoona. It does not appear to be a cross-over. Could have been an incorrect entry? Don't know yet.
