Its always dangerous to reply without looking at the raw data. With respect to M. H. Seaford, he actually enlisted at Camp Conner, in Prince William County, Va, near the mouth of the Occoquan, on 15 Oct 61; he was on sick furlough on the Mar-Apr 62 roll, and was sick in a Richmodn Hospital on the Nov-Dec 62 roll; otherwise he was present on all muster rolls until he was killed at Dandridge 17 Jan 64. For him to have enlisted in this company, given that he was teaching in Fairfield District at the time of the war, he either was from Chraleston originally, or was a private tutor ot one of the many Low Country families who had plantations on the eastern side of the District.
