Also a little trick that aids the people who process the application. If you will look up the veterans index number from the National Parks Service Civil War soldiers and sailors list It will speed up the confirmation process.

Note; His name will be listed alphabetically in "list of all soldiers in this unit". This is the index number that the Veterans Adminstration is looking for.
