Re: Camp Douglas POWS - Lake Michigan and Dissecti

From the National Archives I have learned that my ancestor Evander Calhoun Lisenby of Co. C 1 Ala, Tenn. & Miss. Inf died at Camp Douglas, Ill. He is listed on the Confederate Mound at Oak Woods Cemetery. However, the records obtained show nothing about his capture, or his death. I do understand (read somewhere) that he died of Pneumonia around 9/29/1862. I would like to get copies of his capture, prisoner-of-war, and death records if possible.
Do records exist anywhere about the deaths of these poor guys. Believe he was captured at Battle of Island #10 on March 12, 1862. Any info would be appreciated.BTW- at the bottom of the service card, I notice numbers like 64; sheet 126. What does this mean? I have two other cards with info at bottom also.

Thanks,

Gloria Ann Knight
