Many,many C.S.soldiers from the Spartanburg area originally signed up for service with co.K 3rd,S.C.This unit was called the Blackstock brigade so I am told.After their initial 1st years enlistments were up they came home and joined other units like Holcombe's Legion,Palmetto Sharpeshooters etc.Did the 3rd Reg.cease to exist?Where did the 3RD go that first year and who did they fight under?
