Several years ago Civil War Times Illustated had an article, with pics of the weapons, about the weapons of the PSS. Besides their regular muskets there was a mention of Kerr Rifles. I can't remember how many. Also in the Century War Book, which is made up mostly of original articles and reports, there is something interesting during the 7 Days Battles in Longstreet's report where he says he sent Micah Jenkins an order to silence a federal battery that was shelling the officer's meeting in which he said, "....supposiing he could do so with his long range rifles." That tells me they had some longrange rifles, and probably Kerrs like the CWTI article said.
