Broom/e Families roles during the War

All

Attempting to locate individual(s) with the last name "Broom" that are related to Broom's within Mississippi. Main objective is to identify family members who fought in the War for both states. I know my family came from the Fairfield County area, SC: WILLIAM BROOM, SR. born on 03 Feb 1753 in South Carolina, died 05 Sep 1826 in Little Cedar Creek Fairfield Co, SC; wife AMY NAOMI died Dec 1835 in Fairfield Co, SC.

JOHN BROOM born 1797 in Fairfield Co, SC; married Tabitha Courtney married 1813 in South Carolina.

I know this more a genealogy issue, the Civil War related but I have very little/limited information on the Broom/e within SC history. I mostly am looking into families roles (units, battles, ranks, and service) during the war.

Thanks
