Thanks and I hear from family here that they have copies already and my information from free sources over the years gives me plenty of information on him in S.C. and out here to satisfy all my needs . Jim Mayo got a winner in that pistol for sure.

FYI: I sure messed up on his VA grave stone some years ago and need to correct it before I forget it now. I found he was in the 1st S.C. Inf. and then found that one became the 27th S.C. Inf. Same as his father's regt. The Sr. Smith also Capt/QM. Then I found out too late there were 3-4 S.C. Inf. He was in the Regs and that remained the 1st.

Can't bat 1,000 all the time..
