That is interesting. As I said, several lines on one side of my family settled in S.C. (Spartanburg, Pacolet and some others in Greenville and Columbia). My ancestor Col. Henry White and his son fought in the Rev War. He was a Lt. Col, and served with Col. Roebuck in operations around Tyger River, Siege of Ninety-six, Battle of Mudlick, Blackstocks Ford, Cowpens, etc.. In fact when we won our independence from England, S.C.'s first governor, Gov. Moultry appointed seven new Justices of the Peace. Col. Henry White was one of them. I always found all that interesting. Col. White shot one of Banister Tarleton's officers out of the saddle killing him at Mudlick.

Anyway, the families I am descended from associated with or who settled in S.C. that came from Scotland were the Stenhouse, Foster, Means, Trotter, Barclay, etc.. The Whites were English I reckon.
