Re: More letters from the 15th South Carolina Infa

Mr. Clary:

Thank you for your fast response; based on your response, it seems your books will be a valuable resource to many. I will order it on Amazon tonight, as many resources i find only provide details or troops that were officers.

In response to your question about my ancestors, I am lead to believe that John Samuel Page (1820-1861) of Marion, SC whom married Martha Louisa Bass (1830-1884). A history of Marion County exists that mentions both these (Page and Bass) families as prominent plantation owners during that time. Searching listings of CSA units on the internet suggests that the SC 15th for which you have written about is indeed where John Samuel Page served, and presumably died.

Additionally, I am researching:

1) John T. Chance, whom was in the CSA either in Al or GA -- internet research shows both; I am not sure which is my guy.

2) James Warren Price (1841-1861) of Johnson County, GA -- internet research leads me to believe he was in the 11th Battalion GA Artillery Co "C"

3) Evan Talley (b. 1838) of Translyvania County, NC -- I have yet to get very far with this one.

4) Patrick Thomas Brown, aka Paddy Brown, the father of Jesse Mitlon Brown of Emanuel County GA.
