TN 47th Inf, D L Dickey

I could use some suggestions and advice.
David Lawson Dickey enlisted March 2, 1862 at Trenton, Gibson Co TN.
D.L. was a Pvt of 47th Inf, Co. K.
He was captured and exchanged.
Served as a nurse after not fit for field duty.
Approved to be Chaplain in Rome GA.
July & Aug, 1863 he was at a Rome Georgia hospital.
His name is not on the Gibson Co TN memorial and his documents do not give any information regarding whether he died.
I am puzzled by the following statement in his file: Confederate
Dickey, D. L.
Recom’d for Chaplain 19 Ala.
See Ch 1 – 157 – 210 – D – 1864
Appreciate any comments or advice.
