The reference Ch 1 – 157 – 210 – D – 1864 may be to a document in a microfilm collection called Letters Sent to the Confederate Secretary of War.

The former chaplain of the 19th Alabama, Samuel Lafayette Russell, resigned on May 27, 1863, so the position was open. Of course the 19th Alabama was in the general area, and Dickey may have been acquainted with the regimental commander of the 19th Alabama, Col. Samuel King McSpadden.
