The area I'm asking about is on the outskirts of Strawberry Plains, on Strawberry Plains Pk. between John Sevier Hwy. and Boyd's Bridge (which crosses the Holston). Someone I work with has family that owns land near the river, on a sloping hillside just above the bridge. She's wondering if there was any activity in that general area during the war; skirmishes, camps during the winter, etc. Any pointers would be appreciated. I can't find any info on the age of the current bridge at that location, or if there were any smaller bridges close by before that one was built.
