Thanks for the response.
For starters, the 33rd wasn't present. I believe magee was taken from the hospital for duty. Why? What was his status? His military record shows him in the hospital sick for months.
Second, why would a hospital patient, 19 years old and a drummer boy, lead two Ohio regiments in battle, which is what Magee is supposed to have done.
Third, what actually happened in the battle?
Fourth, who nominated Magee for the MOH? I can find nothing.
Fifth, was thier a doctor named Bran(n)an around?
