Hi,

Were there any Federal records kept on the prisoners at Camp Morton ? ( their condition upon arrival, where captured, details about their death, etc.? ) I've an ancestor in my maternal grandmother's tree, Confederate Pvt. William K. Hulse, Co. E 60th Tn. Mtd. Inf. Captured at " Big Black " he died at Camp Morton July 2, 1863. He is mistakenly listed as William R. Hulse. He gave his age in the 1860 census of Washington County, Tenn. as 57 !!!! ( Colonel in the Tenn Militia prior to the War ) Two other sons died in Confederate Service while his oldest Abraham C. Hulse, served as Captain in the Union Army's 122nd Illinois Inf.
