Thank you for the information. There were many Isenhours and Easterlys (as well as Ottingers and Neeses/Neases) in Cocke and Greene Counties in 1860 to which I am related.
Interestingly, from the list you linked, it looks like my ggg grandfather Ireneous Isenhour may have had the distinction of deserting from both sides. I knew he had 'volunteered' for the Confederate 62nd Infantry (an East Tennessee regiment well known for having many Unionists). He was later in the US Tenn 3rd Mounted Inf and the 8th Tenn Infantry. I had assumed that he was in the Third (which was a three month unit), then the Eighth. Now looks like he may have deserted from the Eighth and latter joined the Third. The Third was a bizarre unit, made up in large part of deserters from other US and CS units.
