This is John R. Scott of the 5th Tennessee Infantry (US), Company "K". Here is a picture of his grave marker:

It appears this man died from disease, as there is no reference to him being wounded in battle or listed amongst those killed in battle.

I have an ancestor from this unit, a William Henry Jones, Corporal of Company "C". He was my gg-grandfather.
