David, My new book about Spring Hill and Franklin, entitled For Cause & For Country, is coming out on Monday. I think you might enjoy reading it, especially the roles played by the 12th and 16th Kentucky and 104th Ohio. Even the long overlooked 175th Ohio finally gets the coverage it has so long been denied. There is no doubt many in the 104th Ohio thought quite highly of themselves. There is no doubt that, among other things, some of the 104th Ohio boys pilfered flags that were actually captured by members of Conrad's Brigade who had rallied on the main line. Eric
