I possess the five microfilm rolls containing the Compiled Service Records for the 43rd Tenn.

In my roster of some 1300 men who served in the regiment, I have seen only one designated as such. This is:

Green, Robert A., Drummer, Co. K, age 22, enlisted October 17, 1861 at Ooltewah, Tenn., appointed Drummer May 1, 1862, appointed Flag/Color Bearer October 1, 1862 and recorded as Pvt., Jan./Feb. 1863 muster roll records as "Coler Sergte.", captured and paroled at Vicksburg July 4-9, 1863, died at home August 5, 1863 (M268 Roll 291)

I maintain a regimental webpage at: http://webpages.charter.net/43tenn
