Lt. William F. Coffee's murder?

Lt. William F. Coffee, 48th TN Inventory, B Co. (Voorhies) was killed in 1864? by 2 federal officers when William returned to his home in Mount Pleasant, TN. William had returned home after the battle at Fort Donelson. My information is the 2 officers involved in the murder were named Sam Morrow and Buck Howell.

Does anyone have information about this incident? We have heard various accounts of this in our family over the years.

Lt. Coffee was my GGgrandfather's brother. His brother, Isaac Hamilton Coffee, also was in the same 48th TN Inventory, B Co. (Voorhies).
