Mr. of Ms. Williams,
The 1st Tennessee (Roger's) Cavalry (CS), 1st (Carter's) Tennessee Cavalry (CS), and the 1st Tennessee Cavalry (US) Regiments all had Company I's.
Roger's (CS) were men from Bradley County, Carter's (CS) were men from Blount County, and the 1st Tennessee (US) were men from Bradley and Greene Counties.
The organizations of Cavalry Battalions and Regiments in the Tennessee organizations are very confusing as depicted in the capsule history from "Tennesseans in the Civil War, Part 1." Your person in question was in the 6th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment (CS). Below I have include the links to the capsule histories of both the 6th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment (CS) and the 2nd (Biffle's) Tennessee Cavalry Battalion (CS). Confused enough? It does get better.

2nd (Biffle's) Tennessee Cavalry Regiment

The men that were in what would ultimately come to be known as Company I were from Hickman and Perry Counties.
I hope this helps.
Respectfully,
