I just stumbled across this site. I have been working on my GGG-Grandfather, Edward Hutson (Hudson) from Meigs County Tn. I have his pension file and records from where he was in the 26th Tn inf. On his records from the 26th company A cover folder it says "see also E. Hudson 3 Conf Cav." On a muster roll it is written " Transfered to cavalry service by order of Gen E.K.Smith while regt. in prison. Transfered back to former com'd Feb.20 1863 in obsubrance to a order of Gen. Bragg + entitled to cavalry pay from 31 Dec 1862 to 20 Feb 1863" I can not find anything listing him in the 3rd cav. He says in his pension file that at the time of surrender his company at the time was Capt. John Blyth and regiment was commanded by Capt Sandusky- "not sure if he was comminshined as a Colonal". A close relative states he was in Howards company H 3rd Calvery, He and Edward were together through the war. I can't find any info on this Howards 3 rd cavalry....any help would be greatly apperciated! Bubba
