I actually did post it there and may have found my guy,
but I want to make certain. I guess what troubles me so much is knowing that he was not in his "home state" in 1860 and I have no idea if he heard of the possibility of war and went home to see his children before it actually started or not. That is what I would have done, but that may not have been an option for him. I am really uncertain of why he was there to begin with. I am very proud of what I have found so far. My father-in-law knew the name of his grandfather but nothing on any previous generations and I have found SO much (6 generations). I would just love to find out about where James is buried if I possibly could, along with what regiment he fought for. Thank you again for your suggestion. Joanna Gibson
