In looking at the original roster of my ancestors company, I 6th TN Inf. CSA, there are your common ranks I'm familiar with; Capt, Lt. Sgt. Cpl, & Pvt.
My question is, how many of each rank were assigned to a typical Confederate Company ? How many Lt's, Sgt's, Corp's, etc...
What was an O.S. & Brevet Lt.?
Were all the Sgt's & Corps. members of the color guard?
