Thank you George for all your help. The information you have supplied suggests that Samuel Wragg Ferguson was not quite right with his dates and that I was right to question it. As I sometimes can not remember what I did last week and as Ferguson was writing 30 years after the events I realise that dates and events can get confused. However, I am convinced that what Ferguson witnessed did take place, give or take the embellishments.
