Wanted to do a follow-up to let you know that due to your information I have the right unit now for confederate private Alexander Taylor, it is Co A, 28th Tennessee Inf (2 Mountain Reg't Tenn. Vols.) Capt. David C. Crook's Company.

I have located his grave site from the obit. in Genealogical and Historical Notes From Crossville Tennessee Newspapers Vol 1, 1878-1899 Transcribed and Published by Michael W. Boniol, 1995, Penman Publishing, Inc. Chattanooga, TN 3rd Printing, 2000. He is buried at what was then called the Beam graveyard. An eighty-five year old cousin remembered seeing the grave and assisted me in locating this overgrown cemetery off the Claysville Road in Cumberland County, TN. Thanks for your kind assistance with the unit. The stone is unmarked, but we are placing a marker.
