Thanks George! The first J. C. Ray was probably a cousin because my Grandpa Joseph was listed as 18 when he enlisted in 1864 in the 6th Cav. per his military card. I have been digging online all night and have found out that Moses was born on 1/24/1814 and died 12/10/1878. His wife was Susannah Caroline Wray. Moses looks like he was the son of John and Mary Huddy(Ellis) Wray. John Wray was the son of Joseph Ray born 1747. All of this military info has made me curious to know if Joseph Ray had any military service as well. John Wray-son of Joseph Ray was 6 in 1776, but maybe he too had some service history later on. Someone online in Genforum said there was a Wray family book with a lot on Moses Wray/Ray so I am going to try to find that. Thanks for any help you can give.
