I believe this is your man. Susan filed her pension request from Shelby County, Tennessee. I do not find either of these two in any subsequent Federal census. Nor do I find him in any Confederate unit.

Her pension application papers should tell what unit he belonged to which could assist in the search. If you do not have these, they may be procured through the service noted in the Red enclosed box above.
