Colleen - When my gg-grandfather was in Murfreesboro, TN about October 1862, he wrote home that a lady in Murfreesboro had given him a flag. I always wondered what happened to that flag. I pictured something like a full-size flag, and wondered why a stranger would give him something like that. But after reading your message, it seems a lot more likely that it was one of these "bible flags." Is there somewhere I can find more information about them?
