His exact date of being classified as a deserter was Jan. 19, 1864. His unit was the 5th Tenn. Reg't. Prov'l Army Mountain Rifle Reg't. One of his officers was Capt. Thomas R. Mitchell 5th Reg't. Tenn. Volunteers. One of his muster cards was Tyner's Station and a couple were Chattanooga. I have a copy of his parole paper somewhere.
