Hello,

A few more books for you even if it is past Christmas for the Army of Tennessee.

- Jefferson Davis & His Generals by Steven Woodworth. If you wish to truly understand the command structure of the Army of Tennessee then you have to read this book.

- Army of the Heartland and Autumn Of Glory by the late Thomas L. Connelly. This two volume set is the standard study of the AOT. Deeply researched and well-written. He hates Bragg but many did then and still do today.

- Cannoneers In Gray: The Artillery of the Army of Tennessee by Larry Daniel.

There's actually been a lot of very good books on the war in the Western Theater that have come out over the last 25 years or so from officer bios to tactical battle studies. Gary Ecelbarger's new book on the Battle of Atlanta is well done and Russ Bond's recent book on Atlanta, War Like A Thunderbolt, is also outstanding.

The finest, by far, tactical study that is tremendously detailed on the Stones River Campaign is the massive two volume set written by Lanny Smith. One covers the Union actions and the other the Confederate actions. You can get them from Stones River National Battlefield and maybe from Lanny himself. He posts on these boards quite a bit. These are both limited editions.

Hope these help - I can offer tons more.
