"BURNT COWAN HOUSE" - BATTLE OF STONE'S RIVER

I would appreciate any information on the Cowan House which was a focal point in the battle of Murfreesboro/Stone's River. It is mentioned numerous times in the Official Records, often as the "burnt brick house".

I am particularly interested in the circumstances surrounding the burning of the house, particular by whom and when. Because this information is for a book, it is essential that I be able to cite a source for the information.

My Thanks & GOD's Blessings,

L.K. Smith
