Phillip,

There is a web site known as Randy's Texans that is very helpful for info about Texas CSA troops , especially Walker's Division. The site is www.angelfire.com/tx/RandysTexas

Also, try the online version of the Texas Handbook. There is a good bit of information about Walker, Wharton, Terry's Texas Rangers, Walker's Division etc.
By the way, Walker's Division was formed at Camp Nelson, near Austin , Tx in late 1862 and probably did not get into the field until early 1863. Good luck in your hunting . Have you tried to see if SFA Univ. at Nacogdoches has an archives section in their library? They may have copies of letters or newspapers from the time of your interest. Just a thought. Also, you might check with the nearest chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans ( SCV) .
