Re: 19th Texas Infantry
In Response To: 19th Texas Infantry ()

As part of Gen. John G Walkers Texas Division the 19th Texas Infantry was stationed at Pine Bluff, Arkansas from Late Dec 1862 until late April 1863.

Gen. Walker was commander of the Lower Arkansas River District at that time headquarted at Pine Bluff, which included Fort Pleasent on the Arkansas River built to replace the lost of Fort Hindman (Arkansas Post) in January 1863. It has been my experience that most of the primary souce material, which has been previously published, has been misinterpreted, primarily the actual locations of Camps and such, during this period. That may or may not be an important interest in your efforts.

If I can be of some service to you regarding their activities during that period I would be glad to assist.
