Dear Jim,

Thanks for your response. I enjoyed looking at your website, and found my great-grandfather in Company E of the 20th Texas Cavalry. I don't know much about him, other than what my mother told me before she died. He was apparently half-blood Cherokee, with an Anglo father and a Cherokee mother. I don't know their names or where they met. I'd especially like to find out more about the Cherokee woman, what group she came from, how she wound up in Texas. It's interesting that you're Cherokee yourself. Perhaps you'll have some ideas about tracking down my great-great grandmother.

Best wishes -- Phil Dennis
