Who was N.A.T.

I am searching for the identity of an officer, probably a lieutenant, whose initials were N.A.T. He served in either the 20th, 22nd, 31st, or 34th Texas Cavalry in late 1862 in the Trans-Mississippi. He wrote several letters to the San Antonio Weekly Herald, one of which appeared in the December 20, 1862, issue.

If anyone can provide me with N.A.T.'s rank, identity, and regiment, I would be grateful. If anyone can direct me to an internet site with the rolls of those regiments, that would do just as well.

Thanks in advance.
