Hey Thomas

thanks a bunch and guess what I finally recieved AD Crockett civil war records from Hill college and he served in the Red Star Guard Rifles Jasper City 2nd Brigade TST under Capt Edward F Conway and he enlisted March 1861

he also served in W C Saxtons Co 1 Reg't Inf Texas State Troops
and of course the one you found for me the 21st Texas Infantry co K (Spaights)

Do you have any idea where I can find histories on these Texas State Troop Units and how to id them. when it comes to civil war stuff i am lost.learning though!!!!!!!!! Or if anyone else knows about these units please contact me.

these are all muster roll papers and by the way
he went in as a private and came out a coporal in the 21 Tx Infantry. Still don't know where he is buried though the last known account for him wa sick in a hospital in Houston Tx in Feb 1865 (the First or General Hospital Houston, Tx (according to civil was records)
and anyone who is researching the 21st Texas Infantry, 11th Texas Infantry Battalion or the Griffin's Texas Infantry Battalion and reads this. Contact me and I have little histories on these 3 units.
