My G grand father, Jacob Hamm, and my gg uncle Lewis Hamm were in the 4th, Jacob merged with the 8th Inf and some how Lewis ended up later in the war in the 18th Indiana Inf. Was the 4th in any other battles prior to merging with the 8th Inf?
