I have been trying to determine how and when the 14th Texas made it to Mississippi with Van Dorn but the rest of its brigade -[15-16-17-18th Texas Cavalry] was retained in Arkansas for the emergency developing there.

This is the first indication that I have seen that the 14th and 10th Tex cavalry regiments were consolidated before crossing the river.

Do you have any more information about the timing of the consolidation and when these 2 consolidated regiments may have arrived in Memphis?
