Yes, I agree with Randy,"fight 'em." This is just terrible!
What about writing the governor of Texas?
The governor will probably side step the issue, but someone will be assigned to investigate and report back. I also see nothing wrong with contacting/writing/e-mailing your senators, etc. The more of a smoke that is sent up, the more likely something will be done.
I feel sure Texas still has plenty of folks that had ancestors who fought for the Confederacy. For that matter, it does not matter where these folks came from. The dead should be repected. This should be like the 11th commandment as far as I am concerned.
Now someone who wants to make a negative issue out of this is the one with issues. Stand firm and fight!
I am one of those folks who is proud to be a flag waving American but I am just as proud of my Confederate heritage.

Pvt. James T. Harper, 5th Tenn CSA, wounded once at Shiloh, even reported dead in one Tennessee site, but I know he lived and fathered a houseful of children
Sgt. J. D. Pearce, 8th Arkansas Infantry CSA, wounded at Shiloh and one of just a handful of men who survived out of the 8th
Sgt. Pleas Loyd, 36th Arkansas CSA who surivived the war being with Kirby in Texas when the war ended, but died soon returning home
