The reference to Col. Robert R Garland's 6th Texas Infantry being at the Battle of Corinth April to June 1862, is in my opinion incorrect.

According to the Copybook of Telegraphs of General Thomas C. Hindman, Little Rock, Arkansas, May to August 1862, in the Peter Wellington Alexander Collection, Columbia University Liberary, Columbia University, New York, New York, Upon arrival in Arkansas from Texas in May of 1862, Colonel Garland's Regiment was place in camp at Camp Texas at Benton, Arkansas. Colonel Garland, because of his prewar Military experience, was placed in command of a Camp of Instruction there.

The 6th Texas remained in the Benton area until early July 1862 when it was ordered to Camp White Sulphur Springs, 9 miles southwest of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It was there that the 6th Texas Infantry became the centerpiece regiment in the formation of Garlands Infantry Brigade, in August of 1862, when the 24th and 25th Texas Cavalry were dismounted and assigned under Colonel Garland command for instruction as Infantry.

Garland's Brigade left Camp White Sulphur Springs about September 20th, 1862 with orders to proceed to the area of Arkansas Post to guard against enemy activity in the area during the construction phase of Fort Hindman are Arkansas Post.

Garland's Brigade was slated during this pertod to be transferred east of the Mississippi, according to correspondance in the Official Records, as part of 7 regiments of Texas Infantry for Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. However, because of the lack of trained and well equiped Infantry in Arkansas at the time they were retained in Arkansas for their mission at Arkansas Post.

And as they say the rest is History and there after Arkansas Post capture on January 11th, 1863, is basically correct.
