Re: Confederate soldier's home in Austin

Hayes,

Thanks so much for your response. I do have documentation that U.A.D. Weathersby served in Greenleaf's Company of the Louisiana Orleans Light Horse Cavalry but his name does not appear in Booth's book of Louisiana soldiers and he may not have served long in that outfit as now he pops up in two different Texas regiments! He did not apply for a pension in Louisiana so I will check on pension applications with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in Austin. I would be VERY interested, since I am somewhat new at looking for my roots, in knowing about the reference material that you used to locate him so easily. Thanks again. Jerry.
